BOB RUSSELL MINISTRIES
MENTORING RETREAT

“A TIME OF REFRESHING”

After dedicating 40 years as the Senior Minister at Southeast Christian Church, one of my post-retirement goals was to devote time to encouraging younger preachers. Consequently, Bob Russell Ministries organizes monthly retreats at the Country Lake Christian Retreat Center in Henryville, Indiana, tailored for eight ministers who share similar ministry circumstances.

Country Lake 1During the two-and-a-half days of the retreat, the focus is on listening to experienced pastors, learning from church leaders, and engaging in discussions about the high calling of ministry. Unlike many other pastor’s retreats that feature collections of workshops with excellent speakers, the “Time of Refreshing” retreat offers a unique opportunity for pastors to be part of a small group, fostering more openness and engagement with the leaders.

Retreat mornings feature roundtable discussions on various aspects of ministry, while the afternoons include diverse activities such as educational tours of local businesses, churches, and other attractions. On Tuesday, participants enjoy dinner at a nice restaurant, and on Wednesday evening, my wife Judy and I host the group in our home, dedicating the evening to discussing “the pastor and his family.”

My hope is that these two days will be both inspirational and restful for each participant.

Country Lake, situated in Henryville, Indiana, is just 30 minutes north of Louisville and provides first-class accommodations. The individual rooms are comfortable, the food is excellent, and the surroundings are beautiful. Here’s the best part – the cost of this retreat, nearly $800 per person, has been entirely covered by generous donors. Your only expected cost is transportation.View from the lake shore of the Retreat Center

To apply for one of the limited slots, fill out the form below. If selected, a $500 deposit is required to guarantee your participation. This deposit will be returned if you attend the entire session. While our intent is for this event to be free, the deposit is only to prevent no-shows or early departures. If you cannot attend or must leave early, the money will be used to finance the retreat for others.

Retreats begin at 5:00 p.m. on Mondays and conclude at 10:00 a.m. on Thursdays.

I look forward to being with you!
– Bob
